The Cambridge Justice & Peace Group was formed in 1981, as part of the response to the Second Vatican Council’s call “to stimulate the Catholic Community to foster progress in needy regions and social justice on the international scene” (Gaudium et Spes, No. 90), and to Pope Paul VI’s establishment of the Pontifical Commission “Justitia et Pax” − the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.
Our group works together with members from OLEM and St. Philip Howard and other local churches, as well as in conjunction with CAFOD, Pax Christi, Global Justice and other groups dedicated to peace and social justice. We aim to keep aware, share and take action on local, national, and international issues of injustice. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm (online from Spring 2020, via Zoom − please get in touch for details to join). All welcome!
Cambridge J&P is dedicated to finding ways to answer the Biblical call to peace and the social justice teachings of the Church.
Please do get in touch if you have any questions, would like to chat further, join one of the monthly meetings, or otherwise get involved − including by joining our mailing list.
